“Mo ju e!”

“I’m greater than you!”

That’s all that my relatives and the natives of the Ikadanland that you know as Ibadan have wanted to say unto me for twenty years and three, ever since my glorious exit from the National Youth Service Corps programme proved that I had more ambition and was blessed with more talents than the vast majority of them — who are mostly illiterates.

“Mo ju e!”

That’s that which my sister had to say in the astral today, thus revealing why approximately thirty years in the United States and being a citizen of the US even now has her deem me as being unworthy of a green card.

“Mo ju e!”

That’s that which my mother was stating with the “Who are you?!” she angrily demanded of me approximately twenty years ago, when my father was still alive, and she had not yet proved that she wanted me dead — as she has proved now with the children and the women and the men (including even lunatics and imbeciles) that she along with my sister and my father’s second wife (and her own last born, Adebayo) gather at Alegongo-Akobo to rape me in my sleep into being HIV-positive.

“Mo ju e!”

That’s that which the natives of Ikadanland (most especially those of them that are my relatives) have been striving to say for forty-nine years, ever since the day of my birth — and thus the evil that they all gathered in Ibadan to not only pull me down but to keep me down also.

“Mo ju e!”

But I’m not in a competition of superiority with you, you that foolish sister. I will leave your accursed land permanently for a more decent environment, very soon. You just keep on running around to make sure that I don’t. You’ve all been running around to thwart all my efforts towards making something out of my life for decades now. Only my Creator has prevented you from killing me outright.

I will make it, despite all your running around to ascertain the contrary. I will not die in your hands. I will leave accursed Nigeria. I will be blessed in the United Kingdom.
